About this Cook
I am 34 years old and married with one child. A 4 month old baby boy named Jack. I have always loved to cook, but recently I have become a stay at home mom so I am cooking every day.
My favorite things to cook
I love pasta, my husband loves mexican, and my sister loves anything chicken, so I cook a variety of things though it always seems as if I am searching for a new recipe.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am half greek so I love to cook greek food. Avelemono soup, Lucanico(a greek sausage) and greek roast chicken and potatoes.
My cooking triumphs
Well I am not sure this is a triumph, but I am always amazed at how surprised people are when they get a glipmse of a home cooked meal. Even if it is something simple. My husband and sister always say that people at work are amazed at the leftovers they bring and how good it always smells. Usually it is just the basics, spaghetti, chili, taco salad, that cause so much excitement. I consider myself a good cook, but to hear these compliments makes me feel like a pro.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I made avelemono soup I did not follow my moms advice on pouring the soup back and forth between 2 pots 8 times. I thought that is just an old wives tale, if I stir it well it will be fine. Well I was wrong the chicken broth, egg and lemon all separated and it was horrible. But I am proud to say that I make the best avelemono soup now. My Mom asks me to make it for her.
