About this Cook
I enjoy simple living and eating locally. We are members of community supported agriculture for fruit and vegetables. We buy all our meat and eggs locally too. I don't can, but do a whole lot of freezing.
My favorite things to cook
Foods bursting with flavor. I love garlic!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Polish sausage at Easter. Grinding horseradish. Make perogi and kolachki at Christmas!
My cooking triumphs
I am known for a tastey banana bread. However, I enjoy making cheese cake and other yummy baked treats!
My cooking tragedies
Well baking has several depending on the temperature and humidity in the midwest. Let's just say, I would rather forget those!

America's Favorite Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Nothing beats a classic like this. Just the right amount of everything - including comfort!

Chocolate Banana Bread
Absolutely lucious! I think the sour cream adds the right amount of moisture to the bread.

Pear Bread I
I used 1/2-Splenda and 1/2-sugar. I also substituted unsweetened applesauce for the oil. The bread turned out delicious. The only reason I ranked this 4-star is because of the texture of pears in bread. My family got caught-up in the graininess of the texture that pears present.
