About this Cook
I am now living in Austin, Texas. Austin is wonderful and it has wonderful fine dining! I have two grown children and a senior in high school. He would be quick to claim he's grown, too! :) I like to try new recipes. My passion though is reading. Once started on a new book, it's hard to get me to do anything else!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook. I look on AllRecipes.com every day for new ideas. I love to try new things. I have found some great recipes on this site and look forward to trying many more!
My cooking tragedies
Learning to make marshmallows!! I didn't know that when you add hot candy syrup and hot gelatin that it explodes. I had it run over the pan on to the counters and onto the floor. What a mess! It reminded me of a science experiment gone bad. I'll keep trying, though!

Little Meat Loaves
As written, these little meat loaves are great! My family loves them. The first time I made them, I used the buttery crackers. The second, italian bread crumbs. To be honest, couldn't tell a major difference. I love the texture and the ease of these. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because I thought they could use a little more zip. Maybe some peppers or something. This will continue to be my go-to meat loaf recipe. Thank you!

Bread Bowls
I have never made bread before. How easy is this?! They were wonderful!! I was the hit of the ladies group when I served Cheese, Borccoli & Chicken Soup (from this site) in these individual bread bowls. Thank you!!

Curried Rice Pilaf
This was an excellent side dish! I doubled the recipe because I was serving 12 people. I also gave a heaping measure of curry because I like it. I took the advice of another cook and used the almond slivers found near the bagged salad at the grocery. I will definitly be adding this to my list of favorites. It pairs well with the Honey Baked Chicken II from this site. Thanks for a great recipe!
