My name's Danielle and I'm 18 years old. I'm from a tiny suburb in CT called Wolcott. I attend Naugatuck Valley Community College for Nursing and work part-time as a CNA at a small rest home. I have a boyfriend, Jim, of 2 years. Besides cooking, my interests include shopping (especially @ thrift shops and tag sales), buying/selling on eBay, reading, writing, working out, photography, music, movies (any type, in the theatre or at home), basically anything DIY or crafty.
My favorite things to cook
I mainly try out new recipes on my boyfriend, and he's a vegetarian so 90% of what I cook complies with that. I like to make entire meals, whether it be pasta, "meat," or something simple like pizza or sandwiches. I'll grill, fry, bake, sautee, boil, anything. I hardly ever do the same recipe twice; if I'm going to take the time to cook, I'd always rather it be something new. However, for some reason, I just can't seem to get a decent grip on desserts! Everything always comes out too dry, undercooked, with a funny after taste, or just not-pretty. I think it's probably because image is important when it comes to dessert, and I just don't have the patience for that.
My cooking triumphs
According to my boyfriend: Veg'n Meatloaf, Easy Veg'n Pasta, Veg'n American Chop Suey, Zesty Tuna Wraps.
Otherwise: Philly Cheese Steak Roll-ups
My cooking tragedies
Actually, most of my "tragedies" come not when cooking from scratch, but when I attempt to use a pre-made or "boxed" food (like mac and cheese).
