About this Cook
I really enjoy surrounding myself with kitchen robots :) I bought my mother a new Cuisinart Blender just so I could take posession of her old one. I love nothing more than having a whole day to plan and execute a fantastic meal for my extended family, and for some reason they never fail to miss one of those occasions!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I adore several of the recipes that have been passed down in my family, but my favourite is for Great-Gramma's Lemon Curd. Christmas just wouldn't be the same without it. Also, I must have the Italian Meat Pie every chance I get :)
My cooking tragedies
I once forgot about the pecans I was toasting in the oven. Let us say that I quite simply lost my head. My husband stills laughs about me running through the house with the flaming baking sheet :) Just don't tell my mother!

Sweet Dinner Rolls
This recipe is very versatile and extemely forgiving! I have made it several times now, adding different things such as herbs and/or cheese, rolled it into a variety of shapes and even had my bread machine lose a paddle and forget the cycle while making it, so it had to be removed and finished being kneaded by hand. It tastes just as good with whole wheat as it does with white flour. My mother, who trained as a chef, and always finds something wrong with anything I make, had nothing to say beyond: "Mmmmmm." And then she ate three. Thank you so much for such a great recipe! I don't buy rolls anymore, since it only takes a trice to make these :)

Cajun Crabmeat Au Gratin
I love this recipe and so does my family! The only thing I changed was adding more crabmeat! My husband doesn't really like "fish" but he's asked for thirds every time I've made it. I use the imitation crab meat, I think it has a sweeter flavour.

Dianne's Crab
This recipe is really good. I did alter it a little bit after I made it the first time to suit my own tastes, but I have to admit. It's fantastic. I used it as a topping on homemade pizza, on top of a quickly whisked up alfredo-type sauce as a base with a variety of soft cheeses on top. It was gobble down really quickly, and only request was to add scallops next time! Thanks for the great recipe, so quick and easy too!!
