About this Cook
I'm a surgical first assistant by trade; I did pursue a dgree in Culinary Arts; but the medical field is way more stable and better benefits. I may pick it up professionally in a couple years...we'll see
My favorite things to cook
Mostly savory things. Not too much on baking/sweets. I look for more healthy entrees when possible.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom & I like to get together around the holidays to bake treats and candy; of course there is atleast 2 bottles of wine involved!
My cooking triumphs
I've had many....
My cooking tragedies
I've also had more than enough of these! All part of the learning... salt instead of sugar is a classic for many of us!

Sweet Dinner Rolls
Easy! And soooo delicious! Rolls came out light & soft, great flavor & tender crumb. I made a honey-cinnamon butter for these rolls: 1/2 C. softened butter, 1/4 C. honey & 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Whip all together & serve with the rolls.

Hot Sausage Links and Beans Casserole
I diced my potatoes (5 of 'em) unpeeled & didn't cook them ahead of time. I added a can of corn after the spuds, used 16oz pkg turkey kielbasa; sliced & omitted the brown sugar. I used Bush's Grillin' Beans Southern BBQ flavor & 8oz extra sharp Vermont cheddar on top all in a 13X9" pan. It's cooking for 1 hour....we'll see..... :) It came out of the oven on the "juicy" side. Good flavor; great for chilly nights. After removing a serving, I tilted the pan & spooned out the extra juice & it was much better

WWII Oatmeal Molasses Cookies
I ran out of Brown sugar & decided to try this one. It's pretty good, but I do like my mom's better which uses the brown sugar.
