I love to cook. My grandmother taught me how and I get alot of my recipes from her. I love trying out new recipes but my real passion is baking. It is so relaxing...its like my yoga :)
My favorite things to cook
I love making homemade Italian food...the sauce the pasta, everything...and I ALWAYS make too much so I usually just have a huge dinner party and send everyone home with leftovers. I started baking at a restaurant recently and LOVE it! I'm learning so much and can see a great future with it. I bake atleast 3 days a week at home, but I usually give the treats I make to friends and colleagues to enjoy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love Christmas. Homemade pierogies, fried fish, farts (just what we call it, its actually sauerkraut and smashed peas - supposed to bring you money). I started a new tradition a couple years ago. My sisters come to my house and we bake dozens and dozens of cookies and bring them with us to Vigilia (our Polish tradition).
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I have a dinner party and everyone raves over how great it is...and then the dessert. Everyone loves my desserts!
My cooking tragedies
I got a recipe for beef stew...probably the easiest thing to make and I ruined it! It was so disgusting me and my boyfriend didn't eat it and ended up throwing it all out! I've since learned that everything you cook doesn't have to be extravagent with its ingredients, simplicity is key.
