Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake
Well, I even tried a few of the modifications that other suggested. Less butter, adding bacon pieces and I added diced onion. It came out, well, just ok. I really really wanted to like it, but even with the modifications it was still way too greasy! some of the greasy came from the 2 Tsp. of butter used, but most of it came from the cheese. I seperated a serving for my dh before I added the ranch and cheese, and I liked his potatoes much more. Oh and I used red potatoes but that makes little difference. I'm going to try and tweak these a bit more and try again.

Chicken-Fried Steak Strips
I just tried this recipe tonight as it was written. It was my first try at chicken fried steak and it turned out great! The breading had a good flavor even without gravy. When I was putting in a full tablespoon of onion powder I was afraid it was too much but, nope, the spices worked well. I did follow someone elses suggestion of salt and pepper the meat before coating and dredge the meat through the flour mix then milk/egg mix the, the flour mix again. In fact I did the coating process twice to thicken the breading a bit. I agree also that if you drain them on a paper towel they really don't come out too greasy. Thanks for a great recipe!

Maria's Pepper Steak
This was a great recipe, but I did follow the suggestions of cooking veggies, meats, sauce seperately, then combining them at the end. My meat came out much better. I also decreased the amount of vinegar as others suggested, but not by too much. I think I might decrease it a little more next time. I liked this recipe alot and will make it again!
