About this Cook
I love to smile and laugh. I like to be challenged and I love to play. My interest are very diverse. I'm happier outdoors, but I do love concerts and movies. I love to read in the winter. I'm not much for TV, but I do love the web. I even keep a blog www.ncoutlander.blogspot.com
My favorite things to cook
Chicken, it's only thing I know how to cook. Beyond that cooking is an adventure for me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
All southern Foods
My cooking triumphs
I finally learned how to cook bacon, grits and eggs. My first accomlishment was making an uncooked banana pudding recipe I got from this site. Simple recipe, even a first grader can make.
My cooking tragedies
Tried to make "Easy Hummus". It wasn't so easy, I broke my food processor, trying to make it. I tried subsitute my mixer in the place(big mistake). I'm back to square one in the cooking department.

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak
Great recipe, I only added one more tablespoon of cornstarch and one whole package of sliced mushrooms. I added the peppers both at the start and hour before finish. The next time, I will put in all the peppers at the beginning. I also plan on adding another can of tomatoes and a little more sirloin. What a wonderful recipe, everyone really enjoyed it. The small portion that was left over, tasted even better the next day. Definite 5 stars.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast
The title describes it best. It is awesome. This was my first ever pot roast. I added potatoes, carrots and onions. I went back later and added a little flour to thicking the gravy. Otherwise this recipe was perfect for me.

Fried Green Beans
I didn't use any lemon or lemon zest, just the olive oil and garlic salt . It was great!
