Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
This is a great way to cook a roast. I only had about a 2 pound sirloin tip, so I cut all the spice measurements in half, except I did use the entire package of dressing mix and instead of water I used a whole can of beef broth. I omitted the bay leaf because I didn't have one. I cooked it for about 4 hours on high and it turned out wonderful. Instead of making sandwitchs with it, I served it over rice, awesome, but I cannot wait to make a sandwitch with the leftovers tomorrow.

Delicious Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
This was the first time I every tried to make pumpkin bread and I was not dissapointed. I did use about 1/2 cup raisans in just one of the loafs and next time I think I will put raisians in the whole batch. Also used 1/2 oil 1/2 applesauce. Very moist and delicious. A keeper.

Dill Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 14, 2011
This was diffrent, but not too bad. It got better the longer it sat in the fridge. Good for a change, but I think I'll stick to another recipie. It would go with fish really good because of all the dill.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs (Suan T'ien Niu Jou Po Lo La Tzu)

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
This was something diffrent to make and it turned out really good. I do agree with some other reviewers that the meatballs could be a little better, but it is a great start. Next time I'm just gonna make the sauce and veggies and use shrimp or chicken for my meat.

Mexican Cornbread II

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
I loved this cornbread. I used pepper/jack cheese to give it a little kick. You will probally have to shread it yourself, but it is worth it. I also added about tablespoon of sugar. Easy and good. I did not use Jiffy, I just used 1 1/2 cups of self rising yellow corn mill.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
I really enjoyed this meatloaf. I had to buy the ground ginger to make this, not sure that really made any difference in the taste, but I got it to use now. Will make this again.

Chicken Spaghetti

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
This was good, but a little dry. I'm giving it 4 stars as it is, but with a few changes it could be a 5 star dish. I would use more soup or I would have diluted the soup with some milk. Also, I would cover it with foil and cook it at 350 for 30 min instead of the longer time. This was still very good and I will definately make it again.

Broccoli and Ramen Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
I wanted to make this and I did. I liked it ok, but I like the other reqular slaw and ramen noodle salad much better. Next time if I want some broccoli I think I will just make a regular broccoli salad with regular broccoli. Plus I had such a hard time finding the broccoli slaw in my little town.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

This is a good and easy dessert to make. My mother thinks it is a little too sweet, but it is suppose to be. I would take this to a potluck dinner as a nice change to the usual dishes. I will make again.

White Chocolate Party Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
My family loved this. I started to melt the white chocolate in the microwave and it burned, so I had to go out to a different store and they didn't have the white chocolate chips so I had to get the candy coating (aka almond bark) and boy that stuff melts really good in the microwave and it worked just fine. It is also alot cheaper. I didn't have any peanuts so I used pecans and they worked, but I think when I make this again I will use salted peanuts because I think it would be better that way. I also did not use and toated oats cerel, I just used more of the others to compensate. This stuff was awesome. We are still trying to figure out what we are going to call it.

Ranch Pretzels and Goldfish

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2009
I really liked these. I added about 2 cups of pecans, because I had some on hand and they were a hit. You could expierment with this one and add more or less of anyhting. I did buy the popcorn oil which was quite expensive, I think canola oil or vegatable oil would work just fine. I will be making more of these for the holidays.

These were ok to me, my freind loved them. It is a good idea, but I didn't really care for the tast of these. I didn't cook them but about 45 min cause I didn't want them to burn. I doubt if I will make these again.

Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
I did not like this very much. It seemed to have too much celery taste in it. It needed more sweetness and creaminess. I ended up adding more sour cream and more mayonaise just so I could eat it. I will try a different recipe next time.

Tomatillo Guacamole

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
This is a good recipe. I had a hard time finding the tomatillo's at my local supermarket, so I went to the Latino supermarket and of course they had them. I used more crushed red pepper than what this recipe called for and more tabasco sause, I like it spicy, but it really wasn't too spicy. My mom could still eat it. This recipe probally would be a little better with some cilantro in it. My favorite guacamole from this website is LuvAnn's Guacamole, you should check that one out.

Spicy Steamed Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
I had never fixed shrimp like this before and I'm telling you this is the way to fix em. We do not have a steamer basket so here is how we did it. I put the water in the tall pasta pot, then I got the collander to put the shrimp in, then I set the collander on top of the pot and it fit down in there perfectly. This worked great. Also, I only used about 3T of Old Bay. It was messy to eat, but it reminded me of being at the beach on vacation. Now I know how to steam shrimp.

Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are oh so good and talk about easy! Wow, I normally don't like baking cookies but these are so easy to make that you have to try them. Anyway I would suggest that you only cook them for 11 minutes so they stay nice and soft.

Zesty Coleslaw

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
You must really like the taste and the sensation that comes from eating horseradish if you are going to enjoy this coleslaw. I was not quite prepared for this kind of coleslaw. Some people might enjoy it but I really didn't. It is definately different from regular coleslaw, sometimes different is better, but not in this case.
