I have been married 16yrs. (yikes) and am a mother of 4!(yikes, again) I absolutley LOVE yoga and being outdoors. Even shovelling in these Canadian winters. I only started to cook when my first born required it of me. When he was finished with baby food I knew I was in big trouble. A client at my job took pity on me when she overheard my plight and gave me the best recipe book EVER! It was simple and basic and nutritious. My saving grace. I've really taken off since then and learned the love of different tastes and different cultures.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that's not overly complicated. Especially when it really doesn't have to be. Anything wholesome with fresh ingredients.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother disliked cooking. But with five kids and a very small budget she did very well. We really don't have any family tradition meals. With the exception of Christmas and Thanksgiving turkeys.
My cooking triumphs
I knew I had come a long way from the panic striken new mother 15 yrs ago when my Father came to dinner and his only contribution to the conversation was his Mmmm Mmmmm Mmmmming. Then he regaled us with his stories of only ever finding mustard and bread in my fridge and how I had to learn how to boil water.
My cooking tragedies
I've had waaaay too many to even count. But every one was a learning experience!
