About this Cook
I'm a mother of 3 who come from a line of amazing cooks, so the bar has been set.My family's standard of food is high enough that most restaurants just leave us dissapointed...so we spend a lot of time at home, cooking. We also hunt and ocean fish, so our freezer is always full of yummy meats just waiting to be cooked!!
My favorite things to cook
Anything on an open fire wins hands down.No meal is ever better then the ones we eat at our place at the lake! But still...barbecued,graveyed, deepfried, panfried, roasted, baked, fondued, you name it! If it's eatable I love to cook it...
My favorite family cooking traditions
too many to mention, always for a LOT of people what ever it was!!
My cooking triumphs
mastering my mom's pies, the grill, and having my husband say "this taste's like my mom's"... is a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
The first time I tried to make spagetti to impress my husband when we started dating, I was 16 and didn't think I needed a recipe book!!! I didn't even know at the time to stir the noodles while they boil!!!What a burnedup, gummy, clumpy, oversalty disaster...butI still won his heart for trying...

Maria's Stuffed Chicken Breasts
This was a very good recipe,I of course use recipies as more of a sudgestion than follow it to a "T", but this one did the trick for me!!I'll bet if you are to do it exactly it would be great.

Christian Rice
Ok, this is quite funny...as I put the noodle soup and rice in the pot I realized...this is EXACTLY Rice-A-Roni! So if you want' to make it simpler just use 1or2 boxes of Rice-A-Roni chicken flavour add sauted meat and veg...my Christian Rice is in the oven now and smells fabulous. By the way, I love Rice-A-Roni!!!

Swabian Meatballs (Fleischkuechle)
I have wanted a perfect german meatball recipe for YEARS,this is even better than my german grandmothers!!!This tastes exactly like the meatballs I buy at a local deli that my family loves. I didn't have to modify anything in the ingredients, but I did sub the beef with elk, cause I have a freezer full!! I also rolled them in flour before frying. yummy, yummy yummy, I already wrote this in my family'a "holygrail" cookboook...
