About this Cook
I have been cooking since I was about 14 years old. I grew up in a large family with six kids, so cooking was a chore for me then. Now I throughly enjoy cooking for my family of six. I love to experiment with new recipes or making up some of my own. With children, finding things that they enjoy is really hard, but this site has helped me a lot!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook deserts (and eat them too). I also enjoy making different kinds of dinners, for the variety of things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
In my family, Christmas is a big thing. We get up really early and make a big breakfast, waffles, sausage, and all the fixings. We have done this for 10 years now and will continue to do so.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumph is when I taught my oldest how to make meatloaf. I had never made a really great meatloaf, but had a new recipe that my son and I tried. It was really easy and now he makes the meatloaf when we have it for dinner. :)
My cooking tragedies
Mystery meat....lol. I had some meat in my freezer that my mother had given to me. She didn't know what it was, but it looked like some sort of dinner sausage. I fried it up in a skillet. It was horrible and I didn't make anyone eat it because I refused to eat it. Never again will I use meat that I don't know what it is.

Egg Salad Sandwiches
I found that the dill and onion were overpowering to the salad flavor. Next time I will cut back on both.

Scrumptious Salisbury Steak in Mushroom Gravy
This was delicious! I didn't have beef bullion, so I used chicken and I left out the salt. Added to my monthly menu.
