Hearty Split Pea Soup

I made this once with diced ham and once with just a ham bone. Perfect either way! I'm sticking with this recipe, thanks!

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
I made this to satisfy some guests for Thanksgiving and they liked them but we had so much food that there was a lot left over. I added some things with it later in a blender, don't remember what exactly, olive oil was a big one, and made salad dressing. It's healthier than store bought and my kids love it!!

Cheezy Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
I omitted the chips and butter because of other reviews. I made this to use up some hashbrowns I had bought in bulk. I also made this in a big casserole dish so added onion soup and mushroom soup. My kids and picky husband loved it! I will make this again with boiled potatoes next time. Thanks!

Candied Sweet Potatoes

I made these for Thanksgiving and it was one of the most talked about dishes. I used less sugar, butter, and marshmellows and everyone loved them! Thanks.

Mexican Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
I made whole wheat tortillas and white flour ones with this recipe and both were great! The cooking time has to be watched closely like others said but preparing these was easier than I thought it would be. Thank you!

Egg and Hash Brown Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
Wow! This turned out perfect! My whole family loves it. I didn't measure anything, just filled my casserole dish. I used a dozen eggs and added lunchmeat ham, onion, red and orange peppers. I took others' advice and cooked everything in the pan first and I also fried it all in the bacon grease which added a lot of flavor. Thanks so much!

My kids didn't like it too much and they're not picky at all. Sorry.

Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
I've made this recipe a few times and found that using less buttermilk is better because they tend to be thin. I also use oats instead of wheat germ and I added frozen blueberries. These taste great and the best thing is, they're healthy! Thanks!

No Bake Cookies III

I found that it won't set right unless I boil it after I add the peanut butter so now I just add the pb in the beginning. I also boil for 2 minutes to be safe and it works great. Thanks.

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
I made these for my husband and I also chopped the bacon and put it in the meat instead. They didn't stick together real well but with extra care it works. Next time I won't put shredded cheese in because it didn't add much and my husband smothers his with cheese anyway. Thanks for the recipe!

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly except I used a 12 inch pan, so I tried to use the rest of the dough to make separate cookies. It didn't work, they all melted together. The giant cookie turned out great though, and tasted great! Thanks.

Cinco de Layer Dip with Fiesta Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
I made only the fiesta salsa to eat with my eggs. This was the only recipe I could find for it. Since I've never heard of or seen tomatillos before, I didn't use them. I followed the rest of the recipe exactly and it turned out great! I may use the rest of the recipe another time. Thanks!

Best Bean Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2005
This was the first time I made chili myself and I really liked it. I added another can of kidney beans because I like less meat. I also used fresh tomatoes and added water which I like much better than canned tomatoes. I'll definately use this recipe again. Thanx!
