About this Cook
Graduate from Texas AM in College Station, Texas... worked customer service for AIG Valic for two years and now, I am a 8th grade science teacher!
My favorite things to cook
Pretty much anything... I love baking and I love to cook for people!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad's pancakes were a tradition every Sunday and for a LONG time, they were the ONLY pancakes I would eat! We also have sweet potato casserole that is really good that my family made on special holidays. My mom made a punch for us kids for our birthday parties that is now a "must" at every family holiday dinner...
My cooking triumphs
It's funny but, mine have always been when "there was nothing to eat"... IE nothing in the pantry. I made what is now called "Salsa Chicken" and now my new one... "Cornbread Chicken". Nothing fancy- very easy and very good!
My cooking tragedies
I was making chicken parmesean and I pt the chicken in the oil... but, about 5 min go by before I realize... oils not hot... it's on the wrong burner... so the oil absorbed into the breading and it was not very good at all!!

Banana Crumb Muffins
I was looking for something to make for breakfast and ran across this recipe. I was at my mom's house and she only had wheat flour so I added 1 tbsp of honey for sweetness. These muffins were a HUGE success. Between my husband and I, we ate 8 of the 10 in 2 days- my mom and dad enjoyed the other two. Needless to say, I will be making these again AND forwarding the recipe to others!!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I
Made with canned beef which actually was quite yummy! Sliced up everything the night before, combined, put in fridge and then plugged it in when I left for work... came home and WALA! SO easy!

Cake Balls
Special for the holidays, I made these with red velvet cake and cream cheese frosting. (I only used about 3/4 of the icing as suggested and I did freeze them about 30 minutes before coating in the melted chocolate.) Half of them, I covered in white chocolate that I made red with a few drops of food coloring. The other half, I dipped in milk chocolate bark. I used a toothpick to do this and so I used crushed candy canes to conceal the toothpick holes I created. They were a HUGE hit!
