About this Cook
I love trying new recipes. I enjoy cooking everything from breads, main courses, soups, salads and canning. I collect recipe books. If they interest me I collect them, from the common Julia Child to various ethnic regions.
My favorite things to cook
Whatever, I am in the mood for or how to use the things that are in season. I love to entertain and the holidays.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making pumpkin soup in October, enough to feed an army. Grilling all year round for family get togethers and of course Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
I don't consider this a triumph but it makes my husband proud...I am known as "Martha" by friends. Personally I find the simple fact that I make the best dill pickles, I love them.
My cooking tragedies
Any cook worth their salt, have had too many to mention!

Banana Bread - Quick Bread for Machines
I tried this in my breadman and it turned out I guess the way it suppose to. But it was bland to me and I added vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg plus raisins....

Best Tuna Melt (New Jersey Diner Style)
I am sorry to say this was not a hit at my house. We all love Tuna melts so when I saw this recipe I could hardly wait to give it a try. I actually think the vinegar made it taste too "fishy". For some I think this might be a good thing for us-not so much.
