I am a stay at home mom who is rarely at home. I have been married for over 10 years and we have a nine year old son and a 7 year old daughter. I am heavily involved in volunteer work and my children's lives. I love to cook and taught myself by watching Food TV and reading cook books. I couldn't even make boxed mac anc cheese correctly until about 6 years ago. Now people rave about my recipes and my husband is 20 lbs heavier.
My favorite things to cook
I will try to cook anything once. I hate cooking fish though.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to involve the kids in the kitchen. My daughter has her own "kitchen" and mimics me when she isn't helping. She has been stealing things from the kitchen though and I have to go find them when I need them!!
My cooking triumphs
Just learning to cook was a triumph for me. You can only eat taco kits so many times before your husband (who will eat anything) complains.
My cooking tragedies
Oh... there were many. The worst is when I caught the stove top and a pan on fire trying to make blackened or peppered fish. My kids were impressed though. They thought that a cuss word was magic and produced flames if I screamed it.
