Strawberry Sauza®-Rita

Reviewed: May 9, 2011
This cocktail was sooooooo good and very pretty. I served these yesterday at my Mother's Day get together and they were a hit like others stated before. As a note if you but a 1/5th of Tequila (750ml), the regular size Strawberry Pucker and the bottle of Champagne go ahead a buy 3 cans of the Limeade Concentrate. Don't cheap out ond get the store brand, go for the Minute Maid. 1 batch goes quickly and with the above bottle sizes you will be able to make 3 full batches. They are strong so be careful!!!! ***Just as a side note, Strawberry Pucker is the name on the bottle for Strawberry Liquer made by DeKuyper***

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
This was great. I DID NOT use 1/4 of olive oil and did not miss it either. I used just enough to get the onions and carrots going. I used all vegetable broth in this instead of using chicken to keep this a vegetarian meal. I loved how easy it was to throw this together. I will be making this again, I think next time I will be adding some zucchini, squash and bell pepper.

Tempting Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
I tried this recipe as written and gave it the 4 stars. The apples added a nice crunch to the mix. After trying things this way, my brain wanted more. I made this again and doubled the amount of tuna used wanting to add more crunch and depth. I added 1/4 green bell pepper, 1/4 red onion and 2 celery stalks- all diced, use the WHOLE apple and 1 more egg. Now I was happy! Thank you RAINYDAZE for this jump start. I would have never thought of using an apple. :)

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
These potaoes turned out wonderfully. I would have never thought to use chicken broth. The broth added so much flavor to the dish. I did cheat and added some aged parmesean shavings before putting in the oven. I will definately be using this recipe again in the future.

Alabama Fire Crackers

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2011
This recipe was so easy that I allowed my 4 year old son to make this. I helped pour the oil for him and he did the rest. The hardest part is waiting overnight to eat the crackers!! Made the full recipe and with people dropping by the house and munching, the entire bag is gone!! Thank you for sharing!! DELICIOUS!!!!!

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
This turned out wonderfully! I added just a touch (2tbls) of cream cheese to this to fill out the flavor. I also took the syggestion of a few others and added more broccoli and cauliflower. The meal was just delicious...

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2011
These turned out sooooooooooo good!! I waited until my family started eating the burgers to tell them they were eating turkey. I was amazed at how my 4yr old son and 13y/o nephew ate them so quickly!! Not a single complaint and the picky eater (my son) asked for seconds.

French Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2011
Thse fries turned out terrible for me. I do better off when I don't soak the potatoes. Maybe I didn't use enough sugar in the water but I will not be trying these again. The time it takes for the potatoes to sit is the deterrent for me. My 4yr who adores fries wouldn't eat them.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2011
This recipe was a great base to add nearly any vegetable to it for more depth. I cut back on the amount of flour used in the recipe for the fear of the soup having a pasty taste to it. I used 1/4 cup, 1 can of cream of chicken soup and 1 1/2 cups of 2%milk, omitting the cream entirely. The soup turned out wonderfully, yet I needed a way to add veggies to my family's diet.

Italian Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
I just made this dish tonight for dinner for myself and my mother, and in short the entire house helped us to eat this. It was so flavorful! If only I had known, I would have made a double batch. The next time I make this I will lessen the kidney beans. I just learned that I don't really care for them. I did add some fresh spinach to the soup as I read from another AR cook that it was a nice addition, she was right. I also used vegetable broth instead of chicken as I am transitioning to a vegetarian lifestyle. ;)

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
This chili was wonderful. This was my first time making a chili without meat and I was a bit apprehensive about the ingredients, the garbanzo beans in particular. I made this recipe as written yet within my own bowl I did add a touch of Chinese Chili Paste for the extra kick. My husband thought it was great and we both found it to be very satisfying and filling. It looks pretty in the bowl too :)

The Easiest Blackened Chicken

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
You can "get by" with this recipe. It really needed some sort of additional flavoring. Careful in the amount of pepper or else the chicken tastes hot w/the worch. mix. Mine didn't blacken very well either. Will try to make again w/a few adjustments like maybe adding soem garlic or some sort of citrus.

Easy Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
Out of the recipes available on this site, this is one of the best. It was way easy to make and had the whole kitchen smelling like heaven. The beef was seasoned from the inside out and was plenty tender. Will be made time and time again here.

Rachel's Turkey Loaf

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
By far this is one of the best turkey loaf recipes. The others had no flavor. This loaf came out of the oven moist and light. It smells wonderful while cooking too. Using the turkey meat omitted the gristly or toughness that ground beef has sometimes. loved this recipe rachel, thanks a bunch!

Southern Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
This turned out just as my motehr would make them on holidays. I didn't give it 5 stars because it isn't the supreme sweet potatoes that my grandmother makes. This is a great basic recipe and works well. If able to try adding the marshmallows and pecans topping.

Shepherd's Pie Complete

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
I'm not sure if it's the beef mixture or just the dish in it's entirety. I made this as a "hey I'm going to the store tomorrow, but I have the ingredients to make this today". I should've gone to Kroger's. This turned out a goopy mess for me. I used a jar gravy and things were just too salty, wet and the cheese helped to meld the dish together. Will not be served in this house again.

Grandma's Famous Salmon Cakes

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2006
I rated this a 5 because of the ease to make theses meatballs. I did add an envelope and 1/2 of another of Lipton Onion soup mix (garlic and herb- beefy onion would probably be great too). Otherwise this is just too bland. Turkey has WAY less flavor than beef. I also added 1/4 of finely chopped onion and 1 tsp of minced gaarlic in the mixx. Smells great while baking.
