About this Cook
Just got married this October in Savannah, Georgia :) I love to craft and am addicted to the Food Network and HGTV. I enjoy cooking but hate cleaning up !! I also enjoy collecting and reading cookbooks.
My favorite things to cook
I am trying to make it a habit to try a new recipe a week. I love Mexican and have made enchiladas which I love! I generally love to make eewy, gooey, cheesy Italian dishes... yum!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I try to remember foods my grandmother used to make that I took for granted then but would do anything for now! I search the internet in an effort to find some of her old recipes because they bring me a sense of comfort and warmth.
My cooking triumphs
A whole Thanksgiving dinner, complete with menu, for my husband and me !! Gravy made from scratch and homemade mashed potatoes!
My cooking tragedies
Well, the first time I cooked a turkey I did forget the gimblets .. my pumpkin cheesecake didn't turn out :( I'm sure there's more but I can't think of them...fortunately :)

Chicken Casserole Mississippi
This recipe needed some tweaking, but was overall good - I especially enjoyed the leftovers! I did add an extra can of soup because it was dry when I was mixing it. Also, I thought the sourcream should have been in the casserole, not the crackers, but I did make it the way the recipe said and it just seemed to get really rich on you after a few bites. If I make this recipe again, I will eliminate the topping altogether, or just sprinkle some seasoned breadcrumbs on top. Not bad for a hearty meal and plenty of leftovers!

Peanut Butter Bars I
Good, but very rich. I must say they do become addictive tho!

Prosciutto Parmesan Pasta
The overall taste of the recipe was pretty good. I did substitute frozen peas for the canned; however, my sauce came out very thin, not like a typical alfredo sauce, despite my continuing to add more cheese. I would have liked it to have been a little thicker to really stick to the pasta. Good for a try, but not likely I would make it again.
