YUM!!!!!!!!!

This is a *huge* favorite in my family -- I've been making it about five years now. My version is slightly different. I do not use ham, but rather a nice, flavorful, slightly spicy sausage. (andouille works nicely) I use only two cans of beans, and I use red wine vinegar, just a splash, which is very nice. We often have this the night before a holiday meal as it is not difficult to make, and you can keep it either on the stove or in a crockpot, and guests or cooks can grab a bowl as it suits them. Wonderful for football games too.

Wow, this brings back memories -- a classic from so many camping trips as a kid. We always added cubed cheese at the end. It isn't gourmet, and I'll never forget how entirely skeptical I was as a kid the first time this was on the camping menu -- but it was surprisingly good that time, and every time since. :) Maybe it's that campfire magic -- EVERYTHING cooked over a campfire tastes better, from the humble hotdog to Hobo Stew.

Thank you for an amazing recipe! I know there are a million reviews for this recipe, but I had to add mine. See, we are a gluten-free household, and actually yummy baked goods are hard to come by. You'd be amazed how many gltuen free recipes people rave about that are dry, crumbly, too dense, etc. With our limitations, I have to experiment with recipes a lot -- my first attempt with this recipe was pretty good, but needed some tweaking... so I added the baking powder, salt, and extra vanilla recommended by another reviewer, and substituted applesauce for half the butter. I cannot believe how well they came out. Absolutely the best cookies I have ever made, with or without gluten. I used Jules Nearly Normal all-purpose flour mix, which I LOVE. I am so happy to have this recipe, and the kids are beyond happy! Thank you!

This is so great! Light, airy, delish... and gluten free!!! My kids love it so much they've already requested a re-run, which I'm making today. Everyone requested the recipe. I filled mine with kiwi, strawberries, and oranges... so easy, so versatile, so perfectly summery! Thank you!

These were great! I did take a few changes from prior reviews. I mixed the sugar water, making sure the sugar was completely dissolved, in the morning. Then I refrigerated it, so it would be cold. I also fried them twice, as many suggested, and they crisped up beautifully. Very very good. Thanks!

This is outrageous. My husband was a serious skeptic of the brining process... until carving time came. I'm amazed the bird made it to the table! Absolutely amazing. *Definitely* use more vegetables. Especially carrots. I added a smidge of wine to the gravy I made from the drippings and it set it off perfectly. Definitely the best gravy we've ever had -- which we didn't even need with such a moist, delicious turkey! Thank you!

YUM! I was looking for a recipe that involved less work in the morning, and this one did the trick! I used the Rapid Mix Sweet Dough recipe on this site, adapted to be gluten free, and my kids were absolutely raving. They were so thrilled to have real, fresh, delicious sticky buns! Thankyou! I was able to use this recipe frozen for make Marcia's Famouns Sticky Buns (on this site) and my family LOVED them! We have a holiday tradition of sticky buns on Christmas morning which went away with the gluten intolerance diagnosis, but this recipe saved the day! By substituting Kinnikwik mix for the flour and making just a few changes, I had the whole crew raving. My daughter even asked for these for her birthday! I added one extra egg, 2T xanthan gum, and 4 envelopes knox unflavored gelatin. I rolled the dough into balls and froze them first on cookie sheets, then put them in freezer bags. Now I can pull out as many as I need. I may try a less sweet version for dinner rolls, the texture was that great! That's a real compliment with gluten free baked goods! Thank you!
