My name is Kim Miller, formerly Kim Holmes of Charlotte NC. I am married to the most wonderful man ever! We are the proud parents of 5 beautiful children. We are a blended family. We recently moved to Honolulu, HI in August 2005 from Lawton, OK. My husband is a Major in the Army. He is deploying to Iraq for a one year mission. I love cooking old southern style, nothing complicated. And of course we love fried food even if its terribly wrong for you. Every Christmas, I make a Red Velvet cake from my grandmother's recipe. It must weigh about 6 pounds when all is said and done. Getting a well rounded meal on the table every night. We eat dinner every night as a family, even if its grilled cheese and soup we set the table and all sit down. When I was learning how to cook, I used olive oil instead of canola oil in a cake. It was absolutely horrible!!
