Old Fashioned Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
This recipe has the ability to be a great potato salad but I found the measurements were a bit off. For 8 servings I used 7 medium russet potatoes. I had to boil the potatoes for 25 mins. There is no way they would have been cooked well enough in 15 mins. I used 3 hard-boiled eggs, 1/2 cup celery. I mixed 1 cup mayo with 2 tblsp of mustard, 1/2 tsp of black pepper, 1/4 tsp of celery salt and 1/2 tsp of garlic salt, and still needed to add 1/2 tsp. of salt. I prefer dill relish to sweet relish so added 1/4 cup dill relish to the mayo mixture and then stirred the mayo mixture into the potatoes, celery, egg mixture. (I omitted the onion as my family doesn't care for onion) I also added 1/3 cup crumbled bacon (another personal preference). Unless you like a very dry potato salad, you will need to use much more mayo to this recipe.

Almond Cream-Puff Ring

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
This was a huge hit at the halloween party I took this too. I followed the recipe exactly, except I did not have semi-sweet morsels on hand so I substituted 3 squares of semi-sweet baking squares chopped up. My puffs did not stick together in a ring when I removed from the baking sheet, but that was okay, I just placed them back together on the serving tray. Also, I ended up just cutting the top off each puff, pulled out the "webbing" inside, filled with the cream and put the top back on. Very yummy! Thanks for sharing your recipe. I will definitely make this again!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
I made this to take to a Halloween party. I took another reviewers suggestions and slow cooked the chicken breast in chicken broth with seasonings for 4 hours (on high for 2 hours and low for 2 hours), drained, shredded the chicken and added the remaining ingredients and returned to slow cooker on low for another 2 hours. Everyone at the party really enjoyed this dish. I think next time I will try making with chicken thighs as I noticed the breast seemed a bit dry. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
These pancakes are so yummy! I was worried my kids would complain just at the sound of pumpkin, but they gobbled them up and asked for seconds! I made the cinnamon cream syrup from this site to go with the pancakes and together this made breakfast a special treat! Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
Instead of making a 3 layer cake, I made cupcakes. This recipe made a total of 29 cupcakes, filling the liners 3/4 of the way full. I reduced cooking time to 20 minutes. The only other change I made was to use 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup margarine beings this is all I had on hand. This is a great recipe! The kids loved the cupcakes this recipe made! Thank you for sharing

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
Just made this recipe a little bit ago and it is almost gone! I only had two ripe bananas on hand, so i reduced the servings to "8" making only one loaf, used 1 egg, and baked in oven at 300 degrees for 50 minutes. This will be the recipe I will use for banana bread from now on. Thank you for sharing it!

Chris' Bay Area Burger

I thought these were great burgers, but my husband and kids were not fans of the basil taste in them. They prefer the traditional burgers. I topped with mozzarela cheese. Very good!

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
YUMMY! I have never been a big fan of banana pudding but for what ever reason I was craving it the other day. I found this recipe and thought I would give it a try since it uses vanilla pudding instead of banana flavored pudding. I did toss my bananas with some "fresh fruit" to keep it from browning. This was wonderful and the whole family really enjoyed it! Thanks!!!

Creamy Pesto Shrimp

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
My family and I really enjoyed this dish. My children aren't the biggest shrimp fans so I sauteed the shrimp seperately and added to the sauce and linguine at the end. I also sauteed some red bell pepper and added that in for added flavor. I used light margerine instead of butter and half&half instead of heavy cream to try to make it a bit lighter and it turned out great! Thanks for sharing!

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
This was one of the tastiest, moist roast chicken I have probably ever made. I made a mistake in making up the rub and used chili powder instead of cayenne pepper, but it still turned out wonderful. Will definitely make this again! Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
I used a 5 pound chicken and seasoned with garlic salt, pepper and paprika. I also added a can of chiken broth to the slow cooker, so i could have more drippings for gravy. I cooked on high for about 1.5 hours then turned down to low for 6 hours. I had a hard time taking the chicken out, it fell apart completely. The white meat was dry. I will make this again, just pay more attention to how long it cooks and maybe stuff the chicken cavity with some onion and lemon to add more flavor.
