About this Cook
I am 38 years old with two wonderful children. Have been married for 15 years. I love Alabama Football and going to Nascar Races. GO JIMMY GO! We tailgate almost all year! I am attending school to become a RN and work part time bookkeeping as well as volunteering where I can. My husband and I are currently looking into opening a restaurant. ??? We will see---that would be alot of work!!
My favorite things to cook
I love trying anything new. We have a wonderful fish market in Guntersville so I am always experimenting. LOVE LOVE LOVE tailgating and cooking for friends. My kids love my lasanga, meatloaf, homemade mac and cheese and my 10 year old boy adores my Salmon Patties! Go figure? My daughter will try anything like her mom. My husband loves my recipe for chicken pot pie. I like trying new recipes for seafood--clams, crawfish mussels, lobster and shrimp! Love grilling oysters at our tailgates. All of my family loves my Grannie's recipe for corn bread dressing.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My daughter and I make candy and chocolates every year at Christmas. I cooked with my grandmother before she passed away-- all the time. My mom and I cook together every Thanksgiving and now my daughter joins us. I always let my husband decide dishes at Thanksgiving and Christmas--he always picks the same things--Turkey, dressing, sweet potatoe casserole and pumpkin pie. How original!! I add everything else! Football season I am always looking for new appetizers and tailgating ideas--Love to tailgate--did I mention that!? (HA)
My cooking triumphs
The Perfect PRime Rib! Got the recipe off this site! It was better than any restaurant I have been in.
My cooking tragedies
Banana Cream Pie After my husband and I were married I tried to make this--his favorite dessert--at least five times. Never got it to form and never tried to make it since!

Krista's Queso
Always a hit at parties. I love the mushrooms in this. I have changed this up quite often by adding mexican Velveeta cheese to give it a little more kick and ground beef instead of sausage.

World's Best Lasagna
Try it--certainly lives up to its name--beat my tried and true recipe by a mile! (And I have been making lasagna for years!)

Cowboy Skillet Casserole
Kids didn't like too well-I thought it was simple and a nice change of pace. Good flavor and convenient--had everything on hand!
