I have been a Cook(maiden name) from the day I was born. Learned to cook at the side of my grandmothers God bless them. my parternal Mammaw was from Tennesse and my maternal Grams was of German descent.I married a man who never gains a oz. and only stops eatin to sleep. After 25 years of marrrage that is a lot of cooking including 5 kids and 12 grandkids (still counting).
My favorite things to cook
I learned to cook for no fewer than 6 and on a shoesting. My husband belives that fried potatoes is the universal dish for any occation. And must be eaten with any type of meat or seafood. I however love cooking Italian, Mexican, Chinese, any type of shellfish.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have one that goes back the 1950's and that is Christmas cookies and candys. Last year was our largest yet. over 2000 items baked, cooked, iced, and decorated. 8 people including 3 of the male sex. And 4 generations partisipated.
My cooking triumphs
My kid's favorite 5 lb. pizza, lasagna, chop souy, chicken & dumplings, beef stroganoff, sub sandwiches, manhattian sandwiches, chili, and meatloaf
My cooking tragedies
A good cook always has mistakes/ thoes who say they don't arn't.My biggest and best was to fix the deviled eggs for Christmas dinner the first yr. I was on my own. Please understand I don't like THEM, And there were 28 others who did.I fixed the eggs and I was looking at them and tried to remember what spice was used to top them. I knew it was red so I plated new eggs with cinniman
