About this Cook
I work so I pretty much that is it. When I head home it is to cook for myself and my husband along with my mom. Thus I just love "one pot/pan" meals. If it can be done in my grandmothers cast iron pan and put in the oven all the better. Let us not forget the crock pot.
My favorite things to cook
My "red gravy" however this is a weekend do and an all day affair because of the time it takes to can it. Mac & Cheese because I just so love it. Plain ole pasta w/garlic & oil. Roast Pork stuffed. Come to think of it if I like to eat it I enjoy putting it together.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Pie. When I was a kid I would help my grandmother and now I get to help my husband who is the baker in the house. Makes a wonderful Apple Pie and great Irish bread. I think my favorite thing is to bake stuff together.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made a lasagna from scratch from the noodles right on up. Oh, and the first time I actually was able to make a good meatloaf and then there was the mac & cheese.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I did Mac and cheese, oh bad! Was like eating sawdust. Now everyone loves it.

Fried Garlic Pasta
This was a tradition in our home. We call it Olio d'oliva e aglio. What my mom did was saute' bread crumbs in a pan and toss the pasta and garlic with this. We also do not separate the garlic from the oil we just toss it all together. Does make a good quick supper or snack.

Beef Tips and Noodles
Okay, so my house we don't do mushrooms. However, we did this by switching the cream of mushroom soup with cram of onion soup. Eliminated the mushrooms and followed through with the rest of the recipe. Cut back on the noodles to about 3/4 of a bag and everyone loved it. My God child who is in college and begs for home cooking. All but did a handstand, then took the leftovers for lunch.

Chicken Pot Pie I
I do it with Snow's Chicken, it puts together quicker especially if you get in late and still need to feed the family. What I also like is that you can add ingredients to compensate for extra bodies. Am going to bake the bottom crust a bit next time.
