I find myself working 10-12 hours a day, so I am usually looking for dishes that don't take too much time, or can be prepare early. On the weekends I like to spend a little more time in kitchen. Weekend breakfast is "desert" breakfast time; my granddaughters are usually visiting, so I like to make something sweet. When I'm not working my other passions are my family (my wife, 3 daughters, son, 2 granddaughters, and 2 grandsons), running, and music. I love Italian & Mexican! In addition, I grill-out year round. My mom passed away in 1995, as a result of breast cancer. Growing up my mom would bake dozens and dozens of cookies during the Holidays. So, at Christmastime, I like to bake cookies and think of her. Hmmm....I don't know that I have had any "triumphs." However, I think my family appreciates my desire to please them with new meals. So, when they compliment me on my cooking - that is triumph to me! I have overcooked, undercooked, scorched..... However, the most frustratng is when I make a preparation mistake, and don't realize it until it's time to put dinner on the table.
