Kentucky Butter Cake

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
This was so easy to make. I had all the ingredients on hand, except for the buttermilk, i used plain milk instead. It worked out great. i think i might make a little extra sauce next time. Tastes great the next day also. i just put a piece in the microwave for 30 seconds.

Almond French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
This is th best french toast i have ever eaten! I followed the recipe and the end result was an amazing melt in your mouth, close your eyes, look up to the heavens, sigh in relief, yummy french toast. I used day old challah bread and after cooking it i sprinkled confectioners sugar, cinnamon and honey. Oh happy day! (Also, i didnt have any almonds on hand so i omitted the toasted almonds and almond extract).

Bread Machine Challah I

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
This turned out fantastic! I made a few changes according to what others have suggested. I substituted white sugar for honey and used unsalted butter instead of margerine. I used the dough cycle on the bread machine and let it rise in the bread machine for an hour. I then made a lovely braid and let it sit for an another hour to rise under a tea towel. I then brushed the braid with egg and honey. It came better than what i expected. I will definately have to make two next time.

Blueberry Coffee Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
I followed the reciexactly and it turned out very nice, but a little dry. I understand that this is a coffe cake and therefore should be eaten with said beverage. However, i still prefer it to be a little less dry. So next time i will decrease the flour to 1 1/2 cups and increase the vegetable oil to 1/3 cup. i will also double the steusel topping and try to melt the sugar a bit more before putting it on top of the cake.

Garlic Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
I'm glad i read the reviews before i attempted this. 1 tablespoon of butter is definately not enough. i used 100grams of butter! 1/2 cup of white wine, 7 garlic cloves. I also added a chopped tomato and a tablespoon of capers towards the end. It was restaurant quality stuff. Very cheap and very easy also!

Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
Great frosting. i used it on top of chocolate cupcakes and it was fantastic. I tinted all different colours and it mixed really well. It was a bit too stiff to work with so i put it in the microwave for 15 seconds and it was slightly more creamy. It holds its shape really well. So tasty!

Russian Tea Cakes I

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
These are always a crowd pleaser. They go perfectly well with a nice cup of tea. I had to be careful with the cooking time. Its usually done in ten minutes, otherwise the bottom of the cakes get too brown in comparison to the rest of it. I let it sit for an hour to cool and then roll it in sugar.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2007
Fantastic!!!! I made this for my workmates and they devoured it all!! This is the best mud cake, very dense and very rich. Followed the recipe exactly. except i let the cake cool in the pan for an hour instead of 1/2 hour. This is such as easy recipe that required very little fuss to make. UPDATE: i used this recipe to make cupcakes and it worked great! i omitted the choc chips and reduced the baking time to 25 minutes. So lovely!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2007
The dough was very elastic. I had to put it in the fridge for 30 minutes before rolling it. I think next time i'll bake it in muffin pans. Also, the icing was delicious but had little bits of lumpy cream cheese. i was too lazy to stand there and smooth it out. Very sweet, very yummy

I made this for my boyfriend and his family and it was a hit!!! I mixed 2 tablespoons of chicken stock powder and 1 teaspoon of salt with the dry ingredients. It gave a little extra oomph to a what is a great, easy and cheap meal. I fried up some beans, red bell peppers and carrots for the side. Finding nice recipes like this is why i love allrecipes.com

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: May 6, 2006
I made this with a few changes and it turned out ok. The only changes i made were that I used frozen peas and corn, didn't add zucchini and used red bell pepper instead of green just for looks-sake. I cut the recipe in half allowed the chicken bones to boil with the stock for a few minutes. I mixed some cornflour in to thicken up the soup and added spiral pasta to make it a meal. A little more peanut butter was added and the whole pot was swollowed up by 4 people in a matter of minutes. I like this soup for its nutritional value and it is always nice to have a hearty meal.

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2006
We followed the recipe exactly and it came out chewy and tasty. Very nice. The next time we made it we added a little too much flour and the cookies did not work. Therefore the morale of the story is follow the directions right down to a tee.
