About this Cook
I remember the days when my mother "forced" me to cook. I was angry at her for it. I am thankful now, and so is my husband!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! I could eat bread and cookies until I was blue in the face! Not enough nutritional value, so I had to learn to cook all that "other" stuff too!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Some of my best family meals have been in the French style. Long, leisurely four or five course meals, where everyone talks more than they eat!
My cooking triumphs
Every meal is a triumph as far as I am concerned! I could be doing a Mexican feast that takes all day, or one pot chili. It's a triumph that I LIKE to cook!
My cooking tragedies
I attempted a low fat version of a black forest cake that just didn't quite cut it. Yuck is a good word.

Cowboy Cookies I
The flavors were great, but the first few batches didn't turn out so well. I increased the baking time, and should have added a few extra tablespoons of flour for higher altitude. I also split the batch in half & added walnuts, coconut, and fresh cranberries to one half, then chocolate chips and pecans to the other half. A good recipe, but not great.

Tater Tot Casserole I
I loved the simplicity of this! The only additions I made were a small can of chopped green chilies, plus some mustard powder, dried parsley, paprika, and cayenne for kick! Turned out perfectly!

Cranberry-Pumpkin Cookies
I absolutely love these cookies! The only addition I made was in the spice department. I added ground ginger, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, & allspice! Next time I will try adding some oats! Great recipe! Thanks!
