I'm from a tried & true Southern family- so I'm always been very comfortable around mashed potatoes and green beans, potroast, cornbread and the like. But when I got married, my husband challenged me with more healthy eating, so I've been experimenting with ethnic foods, as well as recipes with lots of fresh ingredients and vegetables.
My favorite things to cook
Anything with a lot of FLAVOR! I love cooking with herbs and spices and I usually add more than what is called for. I'm really good at baking, although I don't do it often, unless it's a special occasion or a holiday!

Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, chicken pot pie, tomato basil soup, mashed potatoes, homemade biscuits, BBQ chicken pizza
My cooking tragedies
Doesn't everyone have some newlywed cooking stories?? I made my biscuits wrong about 4 times before I made them right- and there was the AWFUL night with the horrible chili that my husband likes to remember as "burnt-beef topping."
