About this Cook
Born and raised in Los Angeles. Since life has a way of taking over, especially when you have other plans,I now live in Ngunguru New Zealand. Away from the crowds and traffic, I now have green paddocks, wildlife, and a new life!
My favorite things to cook
Vegetarian, stir fry, desserts (of course!)
My favorite family cooking traditions
A variety of veggies, raw or cooked!
My cooking triumphs
I am a former award winning Wilton cake decorating instructor. My specialty was hand made icing flowers.
My cooking tragedies
Since moving to NZ,I have had to learn different measurements. I now have humidity (which you don't get in L.A!) It is very humbling after never having anything go wrong, to suddenly have to re-learn how to make bread!

Chocolate Toffee Crunchies
Like the others, I brought these to a party, and they were a huge hit! People could not believe these were made with saltine (salada in NZ) crackers. I want to experiment and use other types of salty snack foods with this, so next time, I am going to make this using pretzels! That should be good too!

Date Nut Bars
I love these! They are chewy and wonderful. I sprinkled powdered sugar over them, and I think I will leave them without next time, as they are plenty sweet on their own.I will make these again, for sure. I also will play with this recipe and add other kinds of fruit and maybe some coconut, as another reviewer suggested. These are easy to make and wonderful :)

Spring Strawberry Spinach Salad
I loved this! The dressing is best when you use it immediately, as it will seperate.Because the dressing is so oily, I didn't use that much at all and saved the rest in a jar.
