Just an average joe who loves cooking. I have been prepping and cooking food since I could see over the counter as a little one and not much has changed. I would consider my taste as experimentative, we love to find new and different recipes all for the sake of seeing how good they could actually be. I spent a bit of time early on as a short order cook and became wickedly bored with the food craft overall. I left food as a career and moved out of the kitchen and into an office. Over time I missed the kitchen and would cater small events and readily provide plenty of cooking and event planning advice to friends and family, but I have chosen to keep my cooking completely separate from my professional life. Work is work and cooking to me will always be one of my favorite hobbies.
My favorite things to cook
Its nearly impossible to quantify my favorite thing to cook so I will offer a style. I love grilling, everything from direct heat searing to all day long low temperature smoking. If you do it outside, it's my kind of dish!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember the only time as a little one that I was not allowed in the kitchen was early Christmas Morning. I can still see my Grandfather cutting and mixing his special bread stuffing from scratch and not wanted ANY peering eyes.
My cooking triumphs
Any great meal shared with family or friends.
My cooking tragedies
The love of my life brought home a recipe for "Chocolate Chicken". I know, we should just have stopped there but curiousity was and still is my greatest enemy. The recipe was listed as a favorite in the publication and with Balsamic vinegar, shallots, shaved chocolate and much more it was tempting to say the least. NEVER EVER AGAIN, it was so bad that the dog wouldn't touch it and after being tossed out behind the house, the wild animals wouldn't even touch it.
