About this Cook
I started cooking after my parents got divorced and my mom went to work full time. Talk about trial and error. After a while I would just figure stuff out and make things up and everyone seemed to enjoy it. When I went to college a few of my friends would ask if I would help them with a "college fancy" dinner before the various formals. It became fun, sort of like a wanna be catering service. I like cooking. It totally relaxes me. I love giving home baked christmas items around the holidays, it's more appreciated I believe. Lets get Cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Everything! Cept a pancake. I could make just about anything except a pancake. Can you believe that mess?
My favorite family cooking traditions
Kwaacho's. Short for Kwaanza Nacho's. Tristcuits, beefstick, pepper jack and monterey jack cheese, back for about 10 min on 350. *just happened one Christmas Eve and its been Tradition each year.
My cooking triumphs
Triple Layer Peppermint Torte Cake. I have a secret spaghetti sauce mixture that my friends are dying to get outta me.Homemade macaroni and cheese. I really need to get into the habit of measuring things, because when I pass recipes on, I dont have the amounts needed. I'm pretty good at eyeballing.
My cooking tragedies
Pancakes, I tell ya. I just don't do them well. Everyone once in a while when adjusting an order it won't come out quite right, but it'll taste better than it looks. Also sometimes...."every once in a while" i might create a burt offering unto the cooking Gods ;)

Decorator Frosting
This recipe was nice because it not only blended well, it was just the right viscocity to do some creating decorating. Not too thin. Kudos!

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
I took this recipe to a work party and was flooded with recipe request. It was so think with just using 1/2 and 1/2, I can't imagine putting heavy cream in it. It's AWESOME and restaurant quality. A new winter favorite. I'll be taking it to the family party next week.

Best Ever Pie Crust
This is a FABULOUS recipe. Making twice as much as freezing it ahead of time works out great as well. I haven't baked in a while and I've used this recipe twice in the last month.
