Happy Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
Yum! I subbed olive oil for the butter & 1/2 & 1/2 for the cream. I am sure the sauce would have been silkier with those original ingredients, but once you mix in the pasta, it is all good! 4 ounces of angel hair was the perfect amount of pasta. Thanks for posting the recipe.

Beth's Scalloped Cabbage

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
I was out of swiss & used cheddar instead. I pan sauted the cabbage, then made the sauce in the same pan. Saved a couple of things to wash that way, and it came out really well. Thanks for a great recipe!

These were great! Took a bit of time to thinly slice all those sprouts, but worth the effort.

Marcia's Company Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2008
This is creamy delicious stuff when made according to the recipe. I have been making this for years. It is high in fat, but it is easy and inexpensive, and it is true, Men do love it! I suggest to everyone that you make it as written. I too wanted to doctor up the tomato sauce, but when you do that you loose the lovely green onion flavour that should be the star in this recipe. I also use real butter, and omit the green peppers. Try it!

Coconut Sour Cream Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
I made this to take to a family function and everyone really liked it. I split the layers using dental floss, that worked really well. Also when filling between the layers keep in mind that you can use 1/3 of the sour cream mixture, I was thinking 1/4 and ended up with too much at the end as the cool whip mixture takes care of the top. I used light sour cream & light cool whip with good results, I agree with a previous reviewer that white cake mix is a must. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

Really good stuff! Simple to make as well. I will use 1/2 butter 1/2 olive oil next time though, and cut back the amount. Thanks for sharing a great recipe!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2007
I didn't use the sauce recipe, only the meatball. I modified it to serve 100 for a boys summer camp. I baked the meatballs because I was working with such a large amount, when I tasted one after baking them I was unimpressed, but when I put them into the sauce...WOW! I received many compliments! Thanks for sharing a great & easy recipe!

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
Easy and liked by all 6 who ate it! I used 2 lbs of meat, 2 cans of soup, one chopped spanish onion, 1 cup of milk, the whole 32 ounce bag of tater tots, and 3 cups shredded cheese. It fit just right in a 13x9 pan. I mixed 1/2 of the soup mixture with the meat and poured the other 1/2 over the tater tots and topped it with the cheese. Thanks for posting the recipe!

Caramel Nut Crunch

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
I had some honey nut cheerios I needed to use up so I did an ingredient search and found this recipe. I really liked it! I did make some modifications to suit what I had on hand. I used 5 cups of cereal and 1 1/2 cups of peanuts, and made the sugar mixture as recommended. It would be great with the extra nuts and I will try it that way next time. I have a convection oven and 30 minutes was probably 5 minutes too long, my error. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe! It is going in the kids lunches tomorrow.

Family liked it but I didn't. I don't think I am over fond of basil. There are better things to do with a tenderloin. Sorry!

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
Really easy and really good. Even kids who aren't sure about seafood enjoyed it. I used a little more garlic and reduced fat cream cheese, also milk instead of water. I think double the sauce with 12 ounces of pasta would be have been ideal. Thanks for the recipe, it is a keeper!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
Easy, inexpensive, healthy, and most of all delicious! I used a cut up chicken which I stewed and shredded. I added 1/2 a tsp. of salt, about 8 ounces of the broth I cooked the chicken in, and 2 tbls chopped cilantro after cooking was complete. I wouldn't skip the beer, it really added to the recipe. All 9 people I fed it to enjoyed it! Thanks so much for a great recipe!

Easy and Delicious Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
I tried making this in the slow cooker with addtional liquid due to others reviews. Oh my gosh was it ever awful. Mushy and bland. I had such high hopes for this recipe, I have had really delicious chicken and rice from a crockpot before, so I will eventually try again, but it will probably be awhile after this disaster!

Banana-Nut Chip Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2007
I liked that this recipe had oats in it, & oil instead of butter. I replaced 1/2 cup of flour with 1/4 cup of oat bran & 1/4 cup of wheat germ. I used 3 small-medium sized bananas and omitted the nuts {some in my household won't eat them} Next time I will make one loaf with nuts and one without. I REALLY liked this recipe! It is a little bit healthier than my usual banana recipe, plus we loved the moist chewy texture. Thanks for the recipe!

EXCELLENT RECIPE! EASY AND INEXPENSIVE, I ALSO ADDED A DASH OF CAYENNE, IT REALLY PERKED UP THE FLAVOR. THIS SAUCE COULD ALSO BE USED FOR MAKING AUGRATIN POTATOES AND HAM, OR SERVED OVER CAULIFLOWER OR BROCCOLI. THANKS FOR THE RECIPE!
