No Bake Peanut Butter Cookies I

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
This has been a classic in my house for years. For those who's cookies didn't harden, try them again. They need to be "dryish" not super gloppy when you put them on the waxed paper. If they are too wet, just add 1/4 cup or so more oats. I always use regular oatmeal, never quick cook as they seem to absorb more moisture and I don't usually have consistency issues. The sugar can be cut back just a bit too, if you find them too sweet.

Quick and Easy Brownies

Super good, super rich, super easy. The only problem is that the cooking time was almost double. At 25 minutes they were still straight liquid in the center.

Condensed Soup Mix

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2008
Very awesome alternative when you are out of "cream of" soup. Tastes just the same in a recipe. I prefer it without the basil as it doesn't go in some recipes. Use 1/2 the water if you are using it to replace a canned soup in a recipe.

Wonderful flavor, wonderful texture, all around a great soup. I might add some more rice next time but other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.

Kitty Litter Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
I read many reviews and was hesitant to make the cake as stated in the recipe. I decided to try it "as written" and was thrilled with the results. I loved how the crumbled cake looked litter-like. I didn't add as much pudding as the recipe called for as I had very moist cakes to begin with. The kids LOVED it! After the "eeeewwwww" they all scarfed it down.

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: May 24, 2008
WOW! I used Kroger brand creamy peanut butter and Kroger brand butter. Creamed them together and they were light and fluffy. I added sugar a bit at a time. I then added milk as instructed. SUPER creamy. SUPER fluffy. Great taste. It was also as spreadable as any icing I've ever used. Oh, and I used a hand mixer. I normally hand beat/whip EVERYTHING, but this recipe really needs the extra horsepower.

Hasty Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: May 22, 2008
Wow - The ones who didn't like this must have either had bad ingredients, followed the recipe wrong, or have never made homemade pudding before. This is phenominal! I followed the recipe to a "T" and it was perfect!

Blueberry Crisp II

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
Wow - getting all of my picky family to agree is quite a feat! Thanks! I did have to use 1/2 apples and 1/2 blueberries as the blueberries are just too expensive. It was still wonderful. The crisp part doesn't brown or get really crispy, but it definately tastes more like a crisp than a cobbler. I'll be making this again.

Chicken Stir-Fry

Awesome just as is! Also, it is very easy to add more vegetables to stretch your money. Next time, I think I'll make a second batch of maranade to put the veggies in. That way they will have just a bit more flavor.

Microwave Potato Ham Dinner

WOW! Clean plates all around. Unfortunately, I had to use the "high fat" version of butter and cheese. It was AWESOME. Finding a meal that my entire family likes is SO hard. Thanks for this recipe!

Awesome! I left the cheese unmelted and served all ingredients "taco" style at the table, allowing everyone to make their own. Everyone loved them! Thanks for the recipe.

English Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2008
Wow - this is tough to rate. As a bread product I give it a 5. As an english muffin I give it a 2. The flavor is NOT english muffin like. The nooks and crannies were definately NOT there even though I followed all the other suggestions. I will make again - but not as english muffins. These make great buns and I love the skillet baking.

Bacon Gravy for Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
PHENOMENAL! The best biscuit gravy I've ever had! An awesome alternative to Sausage gravy for those who prefer bacon. I slmost made it too salty because I salted and tasted before I added the crumbled bacon back in. I would highly recommend adding the bacon back in before seasoning!

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
This REALLY needs sharp cheddar instead of mozzarella. It was very bland AND watery. Next time I'll use cheddar and cut the milk down. I did precook the broccoli and onions, but next time I will cook them a bit longer to get more moisture out of them. Other that that, it was worth making again. My picky family gave it mixed reviews.

Bread Machine Bagels

Great recipe. I've made it several times. One tip from another site really helped with these. It said to boil the bagels until puffy. Once I did that with this recipe (instead of timing them) they turned out much better in appearance.

Chocolate Cut Out Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
Definately an awesome option for families that don't like sugar cookies, but want the fun of cut out cookies. I have made this several times and have figured out to use only 2 eggs if you have jumbo or extra large eggs. Also adding 1T more of Cocoa helps the dough consistancy. It does still need a fair amount of flour when rolling out. The final product tastes like mini brownies. Yummy!
