Well, I'm 21 years old, I live with the greatest guy on earth, my boyfriend Ivan, I'm taking college courses while working, and I still manage to find some time here and there to whip up something tasty and interesting. I love to cook Cuban food, especially pork, there's so much you can do with it, it's unbelievable. I also enjoy cooking italian, mexican and some traditional american dishes like meatloaf and beef stew are always fun! I kind of steer away from family traditions, because the family thing has always been heavy in fat and cholesterol and not as much fun to do. I like new and exciting styles of cooking. I had never known how to make Sofrito (a Cuban base, like tomato paste to Italiano) and I wanted to impress Ivan with some yummy-licious Cuban Cuisine, and his Mom had only given me tips on making it, never flat out instructions, and I did it! I made sofrito, and it was delish, Ivan even said it was great too! I know it sounds ridicualous but I've never really had any "tragedies" I mean sure I've burnt some stuff a little, but nothing tragic.
