I'm a 30 year old stay at home mommy (a.k.a. Domestic Engineer...lol) to two great kids and married for 5 years to a truly wonderful man. I love to read, scrapbook, quilt, and am an amateur photographer. I love pasta! I've also been expirimenting with Asian dishes lately as well. We really don't have traditions. My mom never taught me to cook so I'm self taught. We do have a couple recipes that end up at every family gathering, cream cheese pie and now my egg rolls that I learned to make a couple years back. Learning to cook!!...lol When I first moved in with my husband we lived off of top ramen and hamburger helper for about two years. When I had my daughter and lost my job all I did was sit in front of the food network (it was the only thing that kept her from crying...lol) and started trying new things I saw. Now my Dad is amazed at my culinary abilities and says that I put my mom to shame. Some of those early days in learning to cook were pretty bad...lol The only thing I can't seem to master that is bugging me is my Grandmother's recipe for Sweedish Iron Cookies. She used to make them every Christmas and my mom never had the knack for it and it seems that I don't either. It saddens me because it's one of the really fond memories I have of my grandmother.
