I'm married and love cooking for my husband. He's my own personal cheering section.
My favorite things to cook
Depends on my mood. Some days I like to slog through a difficult, multi-step recipe just to prove to myself I'm capable. Other days, I prefer to dig through the pantry and fridge/freezer and see what new thing I can come up with. Any day, I love cooking with foods I grow in my garden.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The same old, same old for holidays. It may sound boring, but I love knowing my favorite holiday foods will be there - for certain - as opposed to seeing some new-fangled replacement. It's OK to experiment by adding a dish, but heaven forbid you leave one out!
My cooking triumphs
I am a soup master! I love to make soups, and my family loves to eat them. My creme brulee is pretty good, and I grill a great steak with mushroom/bleu cheese sauce.
My cooking tragedies
A dish made with shredded zucchini and cheese was terrible, I thought, but my husband and family liked it. No major malfunctions as of yet (saying that means I'll ruin dinner tonight!), but I sometimes have a tendency to be "off" with my timing (as in some veggies in a dish done before others, etc.).
Almost forgot (I guess I try not to think about it) - I can't make a pie crust to save my life. If one likes a taste and texture reminiscent of cardboard, I've got it down. Since most don't, I cheat and use refrigerated crusts.
