My favorite things to cook
I like to bake and decorate cookies and cupcakes, but don't like having them around the house because they won't really get eaten. I need someone to donate baked goods to! I also like making soup and am happy when I find a good tofu recipe.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I like making kolaches with my grandma. My aunt and I used to make cookies together when I'd stay at her house. Now my daughter likes to help me out with everything I cook, but especially pancakes and cookies.
My cooking triumphs
I just made the most awesome cake in the world for my daughter's birthday. I also make a mean loaf of bread.
My cooking tragedies
Many cakes have been abandoned before decorating when one half comes out of the pan and the other half decides to stay put. The first time I tried to cook tofu was a total wreck. I had no idea what to do, had never eaten it before, and ended up with a flavorless, mushy mess. Luckily I can cook tofu like a champ now. A champ, I say!

Mini Poppy Seed Loaves
These are so good! They are not too sweet, but still have a lot of flavor. I forgot to add the vanilla and almond extract to the first two batches I put in the oven and they still turned out great. I just added it to the last bit of batter in the bowl, and I'm sure those will turn out great as well.

Zucchini Brownies
These are really good! My five year old has decided that they are "the best brownies EVER!" I did add more water when I was mixing, because my batter was really dry. I just added a little bit of water at a time, until all of the flour and cocoa was moistened. I also didn't put frosting on them, although I might next time. I have to admit, I wasn't very thrilled with them on the night that I made them, but I had one the next day and changed my mind. These are great!

Zucchini Corn Fritters
These are SO good. I made a few changes to the recipe and everyone loved them. I only added a tablespoon or so of sugar, because a half cup sounded like way too much and I wasn't going for a sweet taste anyway. I also left out the cheese, used canned corn instead of fresh and added a couple of handfuls of baby spinach, chopped into small pieces.
