I'm a college student in animal science who loves to cook for friends and family. I often daydream about parties I can throw as an excuse to prepare food! I love to prepare whole meals or gift plates for holidays. I especially love to prepare christmas and thanksgiving dinner. My dad is king of cajun cuisine, my mom the belle of soul food. I've got it good on both sides :) I think our tradition, unlike Iowa where I go for school, relies heavily on savory and spicy flavors. I prepared Thanksgiving dinner as a senior in high school and everything came out great. It was so much fun. I even made two pies. I tried to prepapre dinner for church youth group and had to fight with a wedding party for space. The youth pastor also got very impatient and tried to microwave the fried chicken into doneness. We had soggy fried chicken,lumpy potatoes, and burnt black eyed peas.
