About this Cook
I've been baking for a long time - my cookies and desserts are very popular around the holidays. But I've only been cooking full meals the last couple of years.
My favorite things to cook
Anything sweet; curry chicken salad; mexican food; appetizers
My favorite family cooking traditions
Being from the south, I grew up with alot of comfort food. It's not always the healthiest, but it's good!
My cooking triumphs
I just hosted Thanksgiving dinner - our theme was Italian. One dish was bowtie pasta with homemade pesto, olives, grilled italian sausage and parmesan cheese. The other was chicken tetrazzini.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I tried to cook a traditional Thanksgiving meal - the turkey was dry and the potatoes were extremely overcooked!

Uglies
These were okay. I'm not sure I would make again. I ended up using canned sloppy job mix and a mixed style of shredded cheese. I might try to make again with a different type of filling.

Bean Potato Enchiladas
These were really good. I made a few changes to the recipe - I smashed half of the can of pinto beans. I used only grated cheese - a Mexican blend. I did not use taco seasoning because I find it too salty - instead I threw in 2 teaspoons each of cumin and chili powder. I added a clove of garlic - diced. I used green enchilada sauce which was the absolute perfect topping. And I used fresh salsa that I had just made myself.

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese
This was absolutely amazing - definitely the best homemade mac and cheese I have ever made. I followed the recipe as is, and it was perfect. I had to fight my brother and boyfriend for the leftovers.
