About this Cook
Single, happy and love to entertain.
My favorite things to cook
The things that bring people together--indulgent appetizers, comfort foods and cocktails to go along!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother's Tex/Mex chili-cheese enchilidas and Mimi's pecan pie. Good Texas food!
My cooking triumphs
Making a Monte Cristo sandwich that was identical to ones at the chain restaurant. It wasn't difficult, but it was a triumph knowing that I could have it at home even though the restaurant closed.
My cooking tragedies
You know the rule about breaking eggs into a seperate bowl instead of straight into the mixer? I now follow that rule. I ruined a creamy tres leches cake by accidentally adding egg shell. Sort of ruined that whole creamy effect.

Quiche Lorraine I
Every one of us had "seconds". I used vidalia onion and did add some garlic while the onions softened. SO good.

Cheddar Ranch Dip
This is one of those dips that is best to make ahead of time because the flavors begin to meld and the stuff is irresistable after a few days!
