About this Cook
I have been making food for my husband & I for over 10 years but just recently began learning how to really cook a meal. It’s been an experience to be sure. This web site & all the members have been my biggest source for recipe ideas & cooking methods/tips. Finally looking forward to starting a family and am glad to know I have an unlimited source for keeping everyone fed ;)
My favorite things to cook
The meals that look & taste complicated but are actually easy to pull off. I am a very Rachel Ray-esq cook. If there is a quick-cut or pre-made ingredient to be used – I use it. I have a problem following directions & tend to cook by personal taste & all the comments & tips help me out a lot.
My cooking triumphs
Whenever it’s edible - it’s a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
Way too many to list - but I keep trying!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II
This is a great recipe! My husband wanted to know what I bought & how much I spent since I only ever make ‘fancy’ dinners when I come home from spending too much shopping. He loved it & did not believe me when I said it was nothing ‘fancy’ to make. I have a problem following directions & tend to cook by personal taste & this a great recipe for that, you do not have to go by exact measurements. It is also nice because it is a one-pot-meal, less is cleaning always nice. Defiantly check out the other comments for helpful tips. The best ideas are to cook in the oven @ 350 for 20 min after browning on the stove top & to add a slice of cheese to the sauce. Cooking in the oven frees up the stove to make your sides. I also doubled the sauce after I removed the chicken & used it all. The tooth picks were tricky & I couldn’t really ‘seal’ the chicken around the filling so I just folded it in half & placed the cheese on both sides of the ham inside (that way the cheese sticks to the chicken instead of sliding off the ham). I used thick-cut deli meat & cheese slices and half&half instead of cream. This will defiantly become a dinner staple & not just when I feel guilty for that pair of shoes I just had to have ;)

Chewy Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies
These are GREAT! Very simple to make & came out delicious. I used Valentine colored M&Ms & took them to work – they were gone in no time. These would be great with a variety of different flavor chocolate chips, planning to use peanut-butter & dark chocolate next time.
