My cooking tragedies
Last summer up at the cabin, I decided to surprise my husband and grill some hamburgers while he was down at the beach with the kids. I didn't wait long enough after lighting the coals, and flames started flying as I placed the burgers on the grill. They were all but charred in a matter of minutes ... you should have seen me trying to flip them over with the flames jumping up! The kids refused to eat them. But my husband, the good sport that he is, ate a couple of them ... laughing the entire time.

Easy Beef Stroganoff
I really liked this dish. This will be a regular at my house. In the future, though, I'll drain the mushrooms and onions after sauteeing them. Adding them back in with their juices caused the thickening broth to become way too thin. (Oh ... I did add a splash of sherry with the broth. I couldn't resist!)

Italian One Step Casserole
I really liked the idea of this recipe but was a little disappointed in the results. It was incredibly easy, which is a big plus. But I found it to be quite bland, and I was much more generous with the Oregano and pepper than the "pinch" of each called for in the recipe. I will more than likely try this one again but alter it somewhat to zip up the flavor, using garlic and possibly seasoned diced tomatoes instead of crushed tomatoes.
