Dill Pickle Soup
About this Cook
I'm a recent library school grad living in Ann Arbor. I love to cook particularly spicy food. I'm recently obsessed with Bento lunches and will be posting some to my blog at: http://researchandorganization.blogspot.com/ For more information about me and some of my projects and research please see my website at: http://www.researchandorganization.com
My favorite things to cook
Soup!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother's family is Hungarian and one Christmas a few years ago she had huge ethnic dinner with Hungarian Goulash, Stuffed Cabbage, and Chicken Paprikash. I really want to do it again so hopefully this year we can.
My cooking triumphs
Every holiday dinner I make soup to bring along and contribute to the dinner. This last Thanksgiving I made Turkey Sausage and Butternut squash soup. I tend to make things a little spicy and my Grandfather ate it and RAVED about the soup for days after. The spice really helped him out since his tastebuds aren't what they used to be!
My cooking tragedies
I just made some amazing chocolate chocolate chip cookies and I was taking some to my sister's house on a plastic plate. When I was getting into the car I tilted the plate and all of the cookies slid right off and onto the pavement. I almost cried!

Amaretto Roasted Chicken
Loved this Chicken! I used way too much amaretto and basted throughout the baking process. It was a little too sweet and candied at first but then I remmebered the little lemon in his butt and squeezed that on the meat and the tartness really set off the sweet flavor. I would recommend roasting a whole lemon. I also rubbed the skin with garlic and salt.
