About this Cook
i am a stay at home mom of an energetic 14 month toddler.I make indian food which is quite good, but not "the best" ... still learning.. i am learning to cook american dishes now...salads, casseroles etc...I am enjoying making them..& my husband seems to like them a lot.
My favorite things to cook
indian sambar, curries and i simply love baking ....cakes,cookies, loafs ....yum :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have lots of festivals to look forward to and as long as i can remember ,every festival day gotta make a a sweet dish (made with rice, jaggery and lots of nuts) and vada (a hot snack) and pulihora (tamarind rice).i simply love making them for my family and gathering around the table to relish the goodies.
My cooking triumphs
the first time i ever baked anything was at the age of 26 :), that too after i came to USA and it was a huge success ..a delicious pine apple cake on my sons first birthday (thnx to allrecipes.com)
My cooking tragedies
another baking dish...it was a horrible flop, a banana loaf..nobody liked it and i had to dump it :(
