I am 30, a special educator, and consider myself an advanced beginner when it comes to cooking. I like to cook for my husband and love it when he requests certain dishes I've made.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook things that are relatively simple and fast, since I'm pretty busy. I'll also admit that I tend to get overwhelmed by lots of steps and ingredients, but I'm working on getting past that.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom makes a big pot of homemade vegetable soup and an electric skillet full of chili whenever she has a snow day, and I always associate those smells with pure bliss.
Also, not that this is a cooking tradition, but every Christmas eve, my family gets Chinese takeout, and I think that's awesome!
My cooking triumphs
Of the recipes I've tried from this site, I've been most pround of: slow cooker pot roast, sausage strata, chicken chili, mexican rice, and oven-fried chicken.
My cooking tragedies
None yet. I'll keep you posted, though.
