Easy Pie Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
I made this crust for a quiche, I added a little less oil and the crust cracked just a little (my own fault), but other than that it's very tasty. And I used whole wheat flour.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
These are wondeful. I used applesauce instead of oil as per other reviewers' suggestion. I had accidentally picked up "sweetened" applesauce so I cut back the sugar to 1 and 1/4 cups and used whole wheat flour instead of white flour. I added half a cup of chocolate chips to the batter, and made the frosting exactly as directed. These were fantastic and I feel great knowing they're not doing quite the amount of damage as full fat, zucchini-free ones. As a chocoholic, I LOVE this frosting, I'll remember it for other recipes as well.

All-Around Good Smoothie

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
This smoothie is delicious and very versatile. You can use any fruit, although I tend to always put the 1/2 banana in it for fibre. I also omit the honey and add a teaspoon of green matcha tea (powdered green tea), as well as a bit of fruit juice when it comes out really thick. Fantastic! Note: be sure to finely grind the flaxseeds in a coffee grinder beforehand.

I would be really interested in making this... does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make the pastry come out softer?

Minty Orzo Lentil and Feta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
This is flippin' amazing! I even accidentally threw in some red wine (the bottle was sitting right where the balsamic vinegar usually sits!), and this is still great! I omitted olives and added cucumber as per my own tastes, used quinoa per other review and used balsamic vinegar since I don't have red wine vinegar. Also no fresh dill or mint, used dried. SO GOOD!

No applesauce? No problem! Just use frozen (defrosted) bananas instead! Add extra for the tasty banana flavour.

Curried Carrot Soup

I made this recipe, only instead of curry I added ginger as per another reviewer's suggestion. I added a little extra ginger than the recipe called for for curry powder. Delicious!

Sweet Potato Gnocchi

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2008
This recipe was SO OH good! I did make a few changes as per my own taste. First, I used whole wheat flour. Second, I ommitted the nutmeg, as I didn't have any. Lastly, I steamed some baby spinach, cut it up and added that to the dough. I put the dough through a ziplock bag with a corner cut off and squeezed it into the pot, cutting every inch or so. Also, I microwaved the sweet potato per another reviewer's suggestion. It cut the cook time down to about 8 mins per sweet potato. This recipe is great and easy to customize. Wonderful recipe!

Banana Chocolate Chip Softies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2005
This tastes amazing if you add a package of fat-free instant vanilla pudding with the dry ingredients. The pudding really brings out the banana flavour. I give it one star without the pudding, 5 stars with it!
