About this Cook
I am a student and I love dogs, friends, cooking in my spare time (not that I have much).
My favorite things to cook
I love making cookies and desserts, as well as experimenting with new dinner ideas
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't really have any, except for the standard turkey at thanksgiving and christmas
My cooking triumphs
I made a variation of some banana cookies that turned out fabulously, since I live in residence at school, they were gone ten minutes later.
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make brownie pizza once and accidentally burnt the crust... it was literally black and we had fun throwing it like a frizbee afterward.

Easy Pie Crust
I made this crust for a quiche, I added a little less oil and the crust cracked just a little (my own fault), but other than that it's very tasty. And I used whole wheat flour.

Zucchini Brownies
These are wondeful. I used applesauce instead of oil as per other reviewers' suggestion. I had accidentally picked up "sweetened" applesauce so I cut back the sugar to 1 and 1/4 cups and used whole wheat flour instead of white flour. I added half a cup of chocolate chips to the batter, and made the frosting exactly as directed. These were fantastic and I feel great knowing they're not doing quite the amount of damage as full fat, zucchini-free ones. As a chocoholic, I LOVE this frosting, I'll remember it for other recipes as well.

All-Around Good Smoothie
This smoothie is delicious and very versatile. You can use any fruit, although I tend to always put the 1/2 banana in it for fibre. I also omit the honey and add a teaspoon of green matcha tea (powdered green tea), as well as a bit of fruit juice when it comes out really thick. Fantastic! Note: be sure to finely grind the flaxseeds in a coffee grinder beforehand.
