I am very Happily married to the finest woman I have ever met Between the two of us we have seven children 6 sons and 1 daughter ( only two left at home) I am at home due to health playing Mr. mom so I have officially taken over the kitchen and due nearlly all of the cooking at our house.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are mexican foods, italian foods and anything grilled.I like to can from our garden. I will try and experiment with about anything. I get a lot of pleasure from cooking and experimenting in the kitchen.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I would have to say that cooking for the holidays is probally my favorite because of the family being together and cooking together. We have pretty strong family traditions during the holidays due to our mother who always seemed to make thanksgiving and Christmas very special for my brother and sisters and I. She spends weeks in the kitchen before Christmas each year making candies and cookies, pies and cakes. My beautiful wife and I have started doing a lot of it to take a little work off of her .We like making food baskets as gifts and tins of candies and cookies for friends at Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
I dont know that I have any triumphs,but I feel comfortable cooking on the grill and smoker. I get pretty good responces to my steaks ribs, brisket, and fajitas
My cooking tragedies
My toughest battle in the kitchen is probally baking. I can make cakes and cookies and pies and breads but I am not as comfortable as I am with other types of cooking.
