My favorite things to cook

My favorite family cooking traditions
none to really speak of
My cooking triumphs
a lot of the things I do are a combination of recipes from here. I like how everyone comments on small changes that they make to get it to there own tastes.
My cooking tragedies
ok this may sound silly but my worst goof up was when I was 20 and in the Marine Corps living off base. I tried to make a recipe from my mom that she made for us as kids (Graham Cracker chocolate chip bars) putting things together I wasn't paying enough attention and added 1 can of sweetened condensed milk instead of 1 can of evaporated milk. cooking time 35 mins,I think anyway after checking it wasn't done...not even close so I thought my oven temperature was a little off so I turned it up a little and cooked some more. 20 mins later no change another 20 mins and still no change. after about 2 hours I decided to take it out. not looking like bars at all but I think I found a recipe for a new kind of rubber......lol
